Stena Bulk writes to Indian Prime Minister for help to release ship.


Stena bulk shipping company’s chief executive officer has appealed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally intervene to negotiate with Iran in order to secure release of its vessel Stena Impero.
As per media reports, after all the efforts of shipping company Stena Bulk  failed to secure the release of its vessel Stena Impero,  President of Stena Bulk Erik Hanell has written a letter to Indian Prime Minister to personally negotiate with Iran to release its ship and crew members.
The British flag oil tanker stena Impero was seized by Iran on 19th July  in the strait of hormuz. Since then the ship and it's 23 crew members are under arrest. Out of total 23 crew members 18 are Indians on board.
As reported by NDTV India India's external affairs minister S Jaishankar confirmed that Indian Embassy in Iran is working with Iranian authorities to release and repatriate all 18 Indian crew members on board ship.
The oil tanker of Stena Bulk Shipping Company Stena Impero was arrested by Iran while passing through the strait of Hormuz.  It was done in retaliation after Iran’s oil tanker Grace 1 was detained by Britain in the Gibraltar.
