Sushma Swaraj has yet again earned several accolades for her quick action in moving the Indian navy on a mission to save Indian nationals from a merchant navy vessel Yemen. And all this, through a few simple tweets!
It all started when Subrat Shukla, the chief officer of an Indian crude oil tanker named 'Jag Prabha' stuck in Aden in Yemen tweeted an SOS to the Indian Minister of External Affairs.
understanding the circumstances, Swaraj was quick to think of ways to help him and the other Indian nationals stuck in the ship.
She quickly took MOD Manohar Parrikar anf INDIAN NAVY and asked them to rescue indian sailors for stranded ship.
She also reprimanded Shukla for not adhering to travel advisory issued buy GOVT of India against travelling to yemen.
This is a matter of concern that Indian company with Indian flag is not following Indian Government advisory and forcing Indian crew going to such countries.
Director General of Shipping needs to look into this seriously and take strict action again such companies which are violating government policies.
Previously also many Indians have been stuck in Yemen and government has to launch major operation to rescue Indians from Yemen. MOS V.K. Singh was full time stationed at Yemen to supervise the operation conducted by Indian Navy.
